Peter Riley Shupe, father of William Kendrick Shupe was in the war of 1812 a private in Capt Lewis Hails Company, 4th Regiment (Lt. Col McDowell & others) stationed near Noforl, VA
Pater and Sarah Wright Shupe became members of the Latter Day Saints Church in Grayson Co, Virginia. Arouond the year of 1843 moved to Brown Co, Illinois, and in 1845 to Lee Co, Iowa, in 1846 to near Council Bluffs, Iowa, where both died in September, 1846. Both were buried in the same grave at Glenwood, Mills Co, Iowa. A two story brick farm house is built over their graves today. both did work in the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple.
